Tragic Abduction: Gunmen Kidnap Two Catholic Priests in Adamawa

In a shocking incident, armed kidnappers stormed the residence of two Catholic priests in Adamawa State, abducting them in the early hours of February 22. The victims, Reverend Father Mathew David Dusami of Yola Catholic Diocese and Reverend Father Abraham Samman of Jalingo Diocese, were taken from their home in Gwaida Malam, Numan Local Government Area.

Adamawa State Commissioner of Police, CP Dankombo Morris, has condemned the abduction, describing it as “totally unacceptable.” He assured that police operatives had been deployed to track down the kidnappers and rescue the priests unharmed.

“The command has launched an aggressive pursuit to rescue the victims, apprehend the perpetrators, and ensure justice is served,” said police spokesperson SP Suleiman Nguroje.

Morris called on the public to remain calm and cooperate with security agencies by providing any useful information that could lead to the swift rescue of the priests. He reaffirmed the police’s commitment to safeguarding lives and tackling violent crimes in the state.
