Mikel Arteta has made it clear—he’s not throwing in the towel on Arsenal’s Premier League title hopes, no matter how steep the challenge.
The Gunners face Nottingham Forest on Wednesday, trailing league leaders Liverpool by 11 points after a crushing 1-0 defeat to West Ham. But despite the setback, Arteta remains defiant, insisting he’ll only give up “over my dead body.”
“If you don’t believe you can catch them, then you should go home,” Arteta said in his pre-match press conference.
With Arsenal chasing their first league title since 2004, the Spaniard acknowledges the historic difficulty of the task.
“To win this Premier League under these circumstances, you’d probably have to do something no one has done before,” he admitted.
Injuries have plagued Arsenal’s campaign, with key players like Gabriel Jesus, Kai Havertz, and Gabriel Martinelli sidelined. Bukayo Saka is expected to return next month, but the squad remains stretched.
Despite the challenges, Arteta is determined to push forward. “There are so many games left. You need consistency, hunger, and belief—and that’s exactly what we’re bringing on Wednesday.”
The battle for the Premier League is far from over, and Arteta’s Arsenal aren’t backing down just yet.
