In a new development, the Federal High Court in Abuja has adjourned the lawsuit filed by Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan against the Senate’s investigation into her, rescheduling the case for March 25, 2025.
The adjournment came after the respondents informed the court that they had not received the necessary documents related to the case.
Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan, representing Kogi Central Senatorial District, is seeking a court order to prevent the Senate Committee on Ethics and Privileges from continuing its investigation into her. On March 5, 2025, the trial judge, Justice Obiora Egwuatu, ruled in favor of Akpoti-Uduaghan, temporarily halting the committee’s probe.
This delay keeps the legal battle between the senator and the Senate committee in the spotlight, as the court prepares to revisit the case in March next year.
