In a dramatic turn of events, the Benue State House of Assembly has approved the removal of Chief Judge, Hon. Justice Maurice Ikpambese, over allegations of financial misconduct and abuse of office.

The Assembly has also ordered the immediate swearing-in of the next most senior judge as Acting Chief Judge while investigations into the scandal unfold.
