No fewer than eight persons were reportedly killed in the early hours of Sunday following an attack on Otukpo-Nobi community in Otukpo Local Government Area of Benue State by suspected armed herders.

The attack, according to local sources, occurred while residents were asleep, throwing the community into panic and forcing many to flee for safety.

The latest incident came barely 24 hours after a similar attack on Akpachi village in Ugboju community, also in Otukpo LGA, where two persons were reportedly killed and several others injured.

Similarly, the Benue State Government had not released an official response specifically addressing the Otukpo-Nobi attack as investigations and security assessments continued.
