Benue State Deputy Governor Sam Ode on Saturday briefed the press and members of the Presidential Media Team on the operations of a newly established state-owned brewery.
Ode stated that the facility has generated employment opportunities for young people in the state. He also noted that the brewery promotes the local sourcing of agricultural products, including millet, guinea corn, malt and maize.
These raw materials are used in the production of ZEVA premium beer, ZEVA malt drink and soft drinks.
The deputy governor’s remarks focused on the brewery’s dual role in providing jobs for Benue youth and supporting local farmers through the purchase of indigenous crops for its manufacturing process.
The development forms part of ongoing efforts to expand agro-based industries within the state.
