Lagos Police Arrest Thug Seen Attacking Woman in Viral Video Over Car Battery Theft

The Lagos State Police Command has arrested Friday Onu, the suspect seen in a viral video assaulting Mrs. Yetunde Amole in an attempt to steal her car battery.

The incident, which occurred on April 7, 2025, near the Oriental Hotel along the Lekki-Epe Expressway, shows Onu trying to steal Amole’s car battery. When she intervened, Onu became violent and assaulted her.

According to CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, the police responded quickly to the scene, arresting Onu shortly after the assault. However, during his detention at the Maroko Division, Onu reportedly fell ill and was transferred to Falomo Police Station for medical treatment.

The police statement assured the public that justice will be served once Onu is declared fit to stand trial by medical professionals. Authorities commended Amole for her courage and reassured all victims of crime that their cases will be pursued with diligence.
