Arsenal have been dealt another injury setback after Noni Madueke suffered a right knee ligament strain during the first half of Sunday’s 1-1 Premier League draw against Manchester City at the Emirates Stadium.
The 23-year-old winger, who joined Arsenal from Chelsea in a £52 million transfer, was forced off after a heavy challenge. Subsequent scans confirmed there was no anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) tear, but the damage will still keep him sidelined for six to eight weeks. That timeline means Madueke could miss up to 11 matches, including the crucial north London derby against Tottenham on November 23.
This setback adds to Arsenal’s growing injury concerns in the 2025 season. The squad has already faced 12 separate injury incidents, disrupting Mikel Arteta’s plans during a congested fixture list. With Madueke ruled out, the manager will look to lean on fit-again stars like Bukayo Saka, while also giving opportunities to emerging academy talents such as Max Dowman.
