Ilorin, The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has declared its readiness to regain political ground in the 2027 general elections, stating that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has failed the people of Kwara State.
From the state capital, PDP leaders pointed to governance failures attributed to the APC, citing broken promises, poor infrastructure, and economic hardship as evidence that the party has not lived up to expectations. The PDP argued that these failures have eroded public confidence and laid the groundwork for a change of leadership.
Bukola Saraki, Chairman of the PDP Reconciliation Committee, expressed confidence in his party’s ability to recover, especially at the local and state levels. According to him, the growing discontent among residents over unemployment, insecurity, and deteriorating living standards is driving the PDP’s resurgence.
Party officials also stated that internal reforms are underway to strengthen party structures and resolve differences that had weakened the PDP’s appeal. They asserted that unity and renewed citizen engagement will be essential to present a strong challenge to the APC in future elections.
Kwara residents who spoke to the press stated that they expect political accountability and improved public service if the PDP returns to power. Meanwhile, analysts warn that while the PDP’s strategy may resonate with voters, it will require more than rhetoric: sound policies, credible candidates, and consistent performance will be key to turning promises into results.
