A fire broke out at Terminal 2 of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos on Sunday, the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria has confirmed.
The authority said its Aerodrome Rescue and Firefighting Service was at the scene and working to bring the blaze under control. In a statement, the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria noted that emergency responders were diligently containing the situation.
No casualties or loss of life had been reported at the time of the statement. The authority added that it would issue further updates as more information becomes available.
The incident marks the second fire at the airport this year. An earlier blaze at Terminal 1 disrupted flight operations, temporarily affected the airport’s airspace and left six people injured, though no deaths were recorded.
