Villarreal CF has strongly condemned the violent attack on two disabled supporters outside their stadium following Saturday’s La Liga match against Valencia, which ended in a 1-1 draw.

The assault occurred outside Estadio de la Ceramica, leaving one of the victims—a member of Villarreal’s EDI team, which supports players with intellectual disabilities—in need of hospital care for contusions. They were kept under observation overnight for further tests.

The second supporter suffered a severe facial injury, diagnosed as a “complete maxillofacial fracture,” and was transported to Castellon General Hospital, where they remained under treatment on Monday.

In a heartfelt statement, Villarreal expressed their deep dismay: “Villarreal CF reaffirms its unwavering condemnation of all forms of violence. Such acts have no place in football or in society. We stand with those affected and have maintained continuous support and collaboration since the incident.”

Valencia also voiced their disapproval, emphasizing that “football does not tolerate violence in any form. Stadiums should be spaces of unity, free from hate. These actions contradict the core values of sport and the respectful atmosphere between fans that was visible throughout the match.”
