The Lagos State Police Command has declared activist and former presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore wanted for allegedly planning to incite public disorder and obstruct major roads across the state.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Olohundare Jimoh, announced this on Monday while addressing journalists at the Iyana-Oworo axis of the Third Mainland Bridge.
Jimoh said the Command was intensifying efforts to track down Sowore and others allegedly coordinating activities aimed at disrupting public peace and causing traffic chaos.
“Sowore should report himself at the nearest police station immediately or risk being arrested wherever he is found,” the police commissioner warned.
“Anyone attempting to cause public disturbance or block roads within Lagos State will face the full weight of the law.”
According to the police, credible intelligence suggests that Sowore and his associates are planning to stage simultaneous demonstrations at key locations in the state, including Third Mainland Bridge, Lekki Tollgate, and Freedom Park.
The police chief reiterated the Command’s commitment to maintaining law and order, urging residents to go about their normal activities without fear, as security personnel remain on alert to prevent any breach of peace.
