Gunmen kidnapped students from a school in Nasarawa State on Friday afternoon, heightening fears amid a surge in violent attacks across northern Nigeria.

According to eyewitnesses, the gunmen stormed into the school and moved quickly through the premises. They reportedly selected students at gunpoint before fleeing. The shock and panic among the students prompted authorities to order the immediate closure of all schools in Rukubi for security reasons.

This latest kidnapping follows a series of coordinated attacks on educational institutions within hours of each other. Earlier that day, dozens of students were abducted from St. Mary’s Catholic School in Niger State. Witnesses described a similar pattern of bold and selective targeting.
