A chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Kenneth Okonkwo, has declared that supporters of Peter Obi who have not yet joined the party are “disObidients.” Speaking on Friday, the lawyer and actor urged all followers of the former Anambra State governor to register with the ADC ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Okonkwo made these remarks during an interview on Channels Television. He expressed satisfaction that Peter Obi had changed his political tactics by directing his movement to a specific platform. “If you listen to his interview on X space, he said all the Obidients should go and register as members of the ADC. So if you are an Obidient and you’re not in the ADC, sorry, you’re not an Obidient, you are a disObidient,” Okonkwo stated.

The ADC chieftain described the opposition party as the “vehicle of good people” and claimed it has secured the backing of the South-East region. He asserted that the region has aligned with the ADC and suggested that any politician from the zone working with another party is indirectly working for President Bola Tinubu.

Okonkwo emphasized that the ADC prioritizes internal democracy and discipline. He noted that no opposition leader was allowed to give conditions before joining the party, ensuring a solid foundation built on democratic tenets. “One thing ADC will not compromise on is internal democracy,” he added.
