PRESS STATEMENT
IMMEDIATE IMPOSITION OF DUSK-TO-DAWN CURFEW IN UKWONYO WARD, UTONKON DISTRICT OF ADO LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA
The Executive Chairman of Ado Local Government Area, Engr. Sunny Oche, has with immediate effect imposed a dusk-to-dawn curfew in Ukwonyo Ward following an unprovoked act of brigandage carried out by criminal elements, which led to the destruction of properties and posed grave threats to lives.
This decisive action has become necessary to restore law and order, protect innocent residents, and prevent any further breakdown of peace within the community. The curfew takes effect immediately and remains in force until further notice.
Security operatives have been fully commissioned and authorized to enforce the order without hesitation. Any individual or group found violating the curfew will face drastic consequences and will be dealt with strictly in accordance with the law. The Local Government will not tolerate any act capable of undermining public safety or challenging lawful authority.
Parents, guardians, and community leaders are strongly warned to call their wards and youths to order. The responsibility for compliance is collective, and the government expects full cooperation from all residents.
The Chairman reassures law-abiding citizens that this measure is solely aimed at safeguarding lives and property and restoring normalcy. Residents are urged to remain calm, stay indoors during curfew hours, and support security agencies as they carry out their duties.
Government remains resolute: peace and security in Ado Local Government are non-negotiable.
