The Executive Chairman of Ado Local Government Area, Engr. Sunny Oche, has reaffirmed his administration’s unwavering commitment to teamwork, inclusivity, transparency, and effective service delivery with the inauguration of the Solar Street Lights Implementation Committee under the ongoing “Operation Light Up Ado” initiative.
The implementation committee, constituted by the Secretary to the Ado Local Government Council, Hon. Felix Achadu, reflects the Chairman’s resolve to institutionalise collective responsibility and participatory governance in the execution of projects that directly impact the lives of residents across the ten council wards.
Recognising that sustainable development is best achieved through collaboration, the Chairman has deliberately embraced the principles of division of labour and community ownership by constituting ward-based committees made up of respected stakeholders who are familiar with the specific needs of their communities. This approach guarantees adequate representation, effective supervision, and shared ownership of the project across Ado Local Government.
The committee will serve as the coordinating mechanism for the implementation of the Chairman’s solarisation programme. By assigning clear responsibilities, the Council is strengthening accountability, transparency, and efficiency while ensuring that every member is directly responsible for the successful execution of the project within their ward.
This implementation model reinforces public confidence in government by ensuring that projects are properly monitored from commencement to completion. Committee members will be accountable for ensuring that the solar street lights are fairly distributed and strategically installed in locations that will improve security, support economic activities, and enhance the overall well-being of our people.
The Council commends the visionary leadership of His Excellency, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia, PhD., for initiating the “Operation Light Up Benue State” programme, which continues to expand access to critical public infrastructure across Benue State.
The Executive Chairman, Hon. Engr. Sunny Oche, remains committed to implementing this intervention in Ado Local Government with equity, transparency, and fairness, ensuring that no ward is left behind.
