President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has expressed optimism about Nigeria’s economic direction, assuring citizens that the impact of his administration’s reforms is gradually becoming visible.
In a message released to commemorate his 74th birthday, the president acknowledged the difficulties Nigerians have endured but maintained that the country is beginning to witness encouraging signs of progress.
He noted that while recent global developments, particularly tensions in the Middle East, have created temporary setbacks, the broader trajectory of the reforms remains positive.
According to him, the improvements recorded so far are a result of collective sacrifices made by Nigerians, rather than the efforts of the government alone.
Tinubu also explained his decision to mark the occasion quietly, saying it reflects the current mood of the nation and the challenges citizens are facing.
He expressed deep appreciation to Nigerians for their goodwill messages, prayers, and continued support, noting that such gestures strengthen his resolve to lead effectively.
The president further acknowledged individuals and groups who celebrated him publicly, including those who placed congratulatory messages in the media.
He extended special gratitude to his wife, Oluremi Tinubu, and Vice President Kashim Shettima for their kind words and support.
Reaffirming his commitment, Tinubu urged Nigerians to remain hopeful, emphasizing that the ongoing reforms are designed to deliver lasting benefits and improve living conditions across the country.
