Security Forces Rescue 16 Kidnap Victims in Kogi as Troops Neutralise Terrorists in Borno

Security forces on Monday rescued 16 people who had been kidnapped in Kogi State, according to reports issued in the evening.

In a separate development in the North-East, troops of the Nigerian military neutralised scores of terrorists in Borno State. The same forces also successfully repelled an attack by the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) on a military base in the state.

Details of the circumstances surrounding the Kogi rescue, the identities of the victims, or the location of the operation were not immediately available in the initial reports.
