Fire Damages Access Bank Branch in Kano

A fire outbreak has damaged parts of an Access Bank branch in Dawanau, Dawakin Tofa Local Government Area of Kano State.

The incident occurred on Monday and was confirmed by the Kano State Fire Service on Tuesday. The fire was reported at about 1:17 p.m. after the state emergency response team received a distress call concerning a fire at the bank.

Firefighters from the Dawanau Fire Station were immediately deployed to the scene. On arrival, they found the blaze affecting a one-storey building measuring approximately 100 feet by 80 feet, which houses the bank.

According to the report, the fire primarily affected a Mikano generator and an electrical transformer within the bank premises. The generator was severely affected, while the transformer sustained less extensive damage.

Firefighters successfully extinguished the blaze before it could spread to other sections of the bank building. No casualties were reported in connection with the incident.

The cause of the fire had not been established as of Tuesday, while officials continued investigations to determine what triggered the outbreak.
