Trump & Musk Rally Behind Vivek Ramaswamy for Ohio Governor!
Ohio’s political landscape just got a major shake-up as former President Donald Trump and tech billionaire Elon Musk threw their weight behind entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy in the state’s gubernatorial race. The double endorsement came shortly after Ramaswamy officially announced his candidacy on Monday, setting the stage for what promises to be an electrifying race to replace term-limited Republican Gov. Mike DeWine in 2026.
Trump’s Full-Force Endorsement
Trump, who once faced off against Ramaswamy in the 2024 GOP presidential primary, didn’t hold back his enthusiasm for the young political firebrand. Taking to his Truth Social platform, Trump praised Ramaswamy’s intelligence, strength, and unwavering patriotism.
“VIVEK RAMASWAMY is running for Governor of the Great State of Ohio. I know him well, competed against him, and he is something SPECIAL,” Trump wrote. “He’s Young, Strong, and Smart! Vivek is also a very good person, who truly loves our Country. He will be a GREAT Governor of Ohio, will never let you down, and has my COMPLETE AND TOTAL ENDORSEMENT!”
Elon Musk Joins the Chorus of Support
Adding to the momentum, Musk—who has been an outspoken figure in politics and a senior advisor to Trump—also endorsed Ramaswamy via his social media platform, X (formerly Twitter).
“Good luck, you have my full endorsement!” Musk replied to Ramaswamy in a post, reinforcing his backing for the political newcomer’s campaign.
A Political Power Move & the Road to Ohio
Ramaswamy, a Cincinnati native and biotech entrepreneur, made waves in the 2024 presidential race before dropping out to endorse Trump. His entrance into Ohio’s gubernatorial race was widely anticipated, but speculation grew after he stepped down from his role at the newly created Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) earlier this year. Initially appointed alongside Musk, Ramaswamy exited the position just ahead of Trump’s inauguration to focus on his campaign. Rumors of a rift between the two surfaced, but Musk’s resounding endorsement put those claims to rest.
Speaking to an energetic crowd at his campaign launch rally in Cincinnati, Ramaswamy painted a vision of Ohio’s return to national prominence.
“I will lead Ohio to become the state of excellence in America,” he declared. “Think that sounds unrealistic? It’s not. In fact, it wasn’t long ago that Ohio was that state. Today, young people on the internet make fun of something by saying ‘that’s so Ohio.’ But less than a century ago, people weren’t making fun of Ohio—they were aspiring to be Ohio.”
At just 39 years old, Ramaswamy represents a new wave of Republican leadership, blending conservative values with an outsider’s perspective. With two of the most influential figures in politics and business backing him, his campaign is off to a powerful start.
As the race unfolds, all eyes will be on Ohio to see if Ramaswamy can turn endorsements into electoral victory. One thing’s for sure—this contest is already shaping up to be one of the most closely watched gubernatorial races in recent history.
