Wife of Senate President, Mrs. Ekaette Akpabio, has strongly dismissed allegations of sexual harassment made against her husband, Senator Godswill Akpabio, by Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan.

Speaking to journalists on Friday, Mrs. Akpabio described the claims as “false and unfounded,” emphasizing that her husband is a disciplined man who respects women and has always championed their inclusion in governance.

Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan had alleged that her troubles in the Senate started after she rejected Akpabio’s advances. In response, Mrs. Akpabio refuted the claim, insisting that the accusations were baseless and an attempt to tarnish her husband’s reputation.

She further revealed that she was present at their family residence on December 8, 2023—the date of the alleged incident—stressing that both families have had a long-standing cordial relationship, even before Natasha’s marriage.

Calling on women to refrain from making false accusations, Mrs. Akpabio vowed to explore legal options to address the matter.
