Chaos in Lagos: Air Force Personnel Allegedly Storm IKEDC Office Over N4 Billion Debt

Tensions flared in Lagos as over a dozen Air Force personnel allegedly invaded the Ikeja Electricity Distribution Company (IKEDC) office, attacking workers and vandalizing property.

IKEDC spokesperson Kingsley Okotie recounted the ordeal, revealing that the uniformed men arrived in a truck early Thursday morning, assaulting staff and seizing valuables, including laptops and phones.

“They came in, beating our staff. They even took my laptop, and many employees lost their phones after they left,” Okotie told Vanguard.

According to him, the attack was triggered by IKEDC’s decision to disconnect power to the Air Force base at Sam Ethnan Barracks due to an outstanding debt of over N4 billion.

“They destroyed our offices, wiped out our IT infrastructure, blinded our CCTV cameras, and even forced our drivers to move company vehicles,” Okotie added.

The shocking incident has raised concerns about abuse of power and the security of corporate establishments.
