Actress Rhoda Albert, best known for her captivating role as Paulina in the hit series Wura, is reflecting on her journey, the challenges of bringing her character to life, and the deep lessons she has learned from acting.

In an exclusive chat with Potpourri, Albert revealed that while she may have embodied Paulina on screen, they are worlds apart in real life.

“Paulina is this extroverted, people-loving character, but I’m actually an ambivert—I enjoy my space,” she shared. However, there is one thing they both have in common: a tough exterior masking a soft heart.

From her fashion sense to her taste in men, Albert admits she had to step outside her comfort zone to fully become Paulina.

“Our dress styles are different, and even the kind of men we like,” she laughed. “But to really own the role, I made a deliberate effort to dress like Paulina even off set. That way, my co-stars would always see me as her.”

The Toughest Scenes to Film

One of the most challenging moments in the series, Albert recalled, was Paulina’s emotional shift when Fola returned to town.

“That transition was tough,” she admitted. “Paulina, who used to be this lively, happy person, suddenly became filled with anger, bitterness, and pain. To pull that off, I had to dig deep into my own emotions—imagining how I’d feel if I had to face someone who hurt me deeply.”

Biggest Acting Lesson? Listen More, Talk Less

Beyond the drama and character transformations, acting has taught Albert a valuable life lesson—the power of listening.

“A listener or an observer is greater than a talker,” she noted. “Even in acting, you become a better performer when you truly listen to what is being said around you. That’s when everything flows naturally.”

As her career continues to rise, Rhoda Albert’s ability to fully immerse herself in a role is proving that she’s a talent to watch in the industry.
