DSS and Police Strengthen Ties to Combat Security Threats in Jigawa

The Department of State Services (DSS) and the Nigeria Police Force have pledged to enhance their collaboration to tackle security threats and ensure the safety of Jigawa State. This commitment was reaffirmed during a courtesy visit by the newly appointed State Director of Security, Murtala Abdullahi, to Jigawa’s Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Abdullahi, at the State Police Headquarters in Dutse on Wednesday.

Abdullahi expressed the DSS’s dedication to fostering a strong partnership between the two agencies to prevent any security disturbances in the state. He emphasized that Jigawa is one of the most peaceful states in Nigeria, which presents an ideal environment for security agencies to work cohesively. “Both the DSS and Police are united in their mission to maintain peace and security,” Abdullahi stated.

In response, Commissioner of Police Ahmed Abdullahi warmly welcomed the Director, underscoring the longstanding, harmonious relationship between the Police and DSS. He referred to both agencies as “twin brothers,” highlighting that security is a collective responsibility that requires cooperation and coordination from all parties involved.

The Police Commissioner reaffirmed their readiness to work closely with the DSS to safeguard the lives and property of Jigawa residents. “This visit signifies our mutual commitment to collaboration,” CP Abdullahi noted.

During the meeting, both leaders agreed to bolster their collaboration, sharing intelligence and devising strategies to prevent any potential security challenges in the state. At the conclusion of the visit, CP Abdullahi presented a memento to SDS Abdullahi as a symbol of their strong partnership.
