Abuja – A major political storm is brewing in Nigeria as former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and key figures from both the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and opposition parties have come together to challenge President Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general election.

In a dramatic press conference currently unfolding in Abuja, several political heavyweights are in attendance, signaling what could be a major shake-up in the country’s political landscape. Representing the Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi, is Yunusa Tanko, alongside other notable figures such as former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babachir Lawal, former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, National Secretary of the Coalition of United Political Parties (CUPP), Peter Ahmeh, and Segun Showunmi, the convener of “The Alternative.”

While some key players could not attend in person, apologies were officially tendered on behalf of former governors Rotimi Amaechi (Rivers), Kayode Fayemi (Ekiti), and the immediate past APC National Chairman, Abdullahi Adamu. Their absence, however, does little to dim the significance of this alliance, which is already stirring major political speculations.

Stay tuned for more updates as this story unfolds.
