The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has intensified its air operations, launching precision-guided strikes that wiped out multiple terrorist camps and eliminated scores of insurgents across the North-East and North-West regions.

According to NAF’s Deputy Director of Public Relations and Information, Group Captain Kabiru Ali, the airstrikes—conducted between March 17 and 19, 2025—targeted fortified terrorist enclaves in Chiralia, Grazah, Yuwe, and Zango Hill, dealing a significant blow to their operational networks.

Deadly Strikes on Terrorist Strongholds

  • On March 17, NAF fighter jets pounded Chiralia, an insurgent base within the notorious Timbuktu Triangle. Intelligence reports indicated that the terrorists were behind recent kidnappings and attacks along the Maiduguri-Damaturu and Damaturu-Biu highways. The strike obliterated multiple enemy structures and neutralized several insurgents attempting to flee.
  • On March 18, NAF launched back-to-back airstrikes on Grazah in the Mandara Mountains and Yuwe in the Sambisa Forest, both well-known terrorist hideouts. The intelligence-driven attacks disrupted extremist gatherings and wiped out key figures.
  • In Katsina’s Zango Hill, the Air Component of Operation Hadarin Daji (OPHD), in collaboration with ground forces, struck heavily armed bandits holed up in rugged terrain. Surveillance missions uncovered their hideouts, prompting immediate precision bombardments that eliminated numerous fighters and dismantled their camps.

Impact of the Strikes

These relentless aerial assaults have severely disrupted terrorist operations, destroying critical infrastructure, logistics hubs, and eliminating high-profile insurgents. The NAF affirmed its commitment to sustained air operations, working alongside ground troops to ensure lasting security and peace.

With these decisive strikes, the Nigerian military is sending a clear message to insurgents—there’s nowhere left to hide.
