Dr. Olajide Adediran, popularly known as Jandor, has embarked on a spiritual journey to Mecca for the lesser Hajj (Umrah), just days after announcing his return to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Jandor, the former Lagos PDP governorship candidate and convener of the Lagos4Lagos Movement, made headlines on March 17, 2025, when he officially defected to APC, setting the stage for a major political shift ahead of the 2027 elections.

His departure from the PDP on March 3 was accompanied by strong accusations of betrayal, indiscipline, and deceptive alliances that, according to him, weakened the party’s chances in the last election.

Now in Mecca, Jandor has turned his focus to prayers, seeking divine intervention for Lagos, Nigeria, and its people. According to his spokesperson, Gbenga Ogunleye, this pilgrimage is a reflection of Jandor’s deep faith and commitment to the progress and prosperity of his state and country, especially during the sacred month of Ramadan.

During his time in the Holy Land, Jandor has reportedly prayed for:

  • Wisdom and guidance for Nigeria’s leaders.
  • Security and well-being of Lagos residents.
  • Unity, justice, and governance that prioritizes the people.

Speaking on his pilgrimage, Jandor expressed hope for a better Nigeria, stating, “With faith, unity, and genuine love for our country, we can overcome our challenges and build a brighter future.”

His move back to APC has sparked discussions across political circles in Lagos, with many wondering what this means for the state’s political landscape. Will Jandor’s prayers and political realignment pave the way for new opportunities, or is this just the beginning of another power struggle? Only time will tell.
