President Bola Tinubu has extended warm congratulations to former President Goodluck Jonathan on being awarded the 2025 Sunhak Peace Founders’ Award.

In a statement released on Tuesday by his spokesperson, Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu praised Jonathan for his unwavering commitment to peace, democracy, and national unity—qualities that have earned him global respect.

The President highlighted Jonathan’s historic concession in the 2015 presidential election, where he peacefully handed over power to an opposition party, strengthening Nigeria’s democratic legacy.

“Jonathan’s dedication to peacebuilding and democratic ideals in Africa and beyond has been rightfully acknowledged with this prestigious award,” Tinubu stated, adding that the recognition reaffirms Nigeria’s leadership in fostering global harmony.
