With political maneuvering already heating up ahead of the 2027 elections, the Abia State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has issued a stern warning to its members against engaging in anti-party activities.
Amid growing speculation that some party loyalists may be secretly backing opposition parties, APC State Chairman, Dr. Kingsley Ononogbu, made it clear that disloyalty will not be tolerated.
Speaking in Umuahia, Ononogbu declared that any member found supporting rival parties—whether openly or in the shadows—will face disciplinary action as stipulated in the party’s constitution.
“We will not sit back and allow sabotage within our ranks,” he warned, adding that a special committee will be set up to investigate suspected cases of anti-party activities.
In addition, a dedicated monitoring team will be deployed to ensure all APC members remain committed to the party’s vision.
Expressing confidence in APC’s chances of taking over Abia in 2027, Ononogbu urged party members to stay united, recruit new supporters, and work towards strengthening the party’s presence across the state.
