Police Smashes Bandit Raid in Zamfara, Kills Notorious Kingpin, But Lives Lost in Fierce Battle

In a daring showdown between security forces and bandits in Zamfara, police and allied groups successfully foiled an attack in Keta village, Tsafe Local Government Area, killing several bandits, including a notorious kingpin.

The violent clash, which took place early Friday afternoon, resulted in the tragic loss of four Civilian Protection Guard (CPG) members, two hunters, and one police officer. The brave security personnel made the ultimate sacrifice as they engaged a large group of heavily armed bandits who had stormed the village with ill intentions.

The joint operation, which was mounted swiftly in response to a tip-off from a concerned local, involved the Police Mobile Force (PMF), Counter Terrorists Unit (CTU), CPG members, and local hunters. The battle raged for hours, but despite the heartbreaking loss of life, security forces managed to overpower the bandits, leaving many of them dead, including the feared bandit leader, Dan Isuhu Mudale, notorious for his reign of terror in the area.

Following the clash, two of the wounded hunters were rushed to the Federal Medical Center in Gusau for urgent treatment.

Zamfara’s Police Spokesperson, DSP Yazid Abubakar, confirmed the operation’s success, underscoring that the elimination of Mudale would significantly disrupt the bandits’ operations in the region. “This operation is part of our ongoing commitment to restore peace and security to the state,” Abubakar stated. He urged the people of Zamfara to stay vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the authorities for swift action.

While the battle took a heavy toll, the authorities remain determined to continue their fight against the banditry plaguing the region, bringing justice and safety back to the people of Zamfara.
