Robert Irwin Strips Down in Wild New Underwear Campaign: Crocs, Snakes, and Skivvies!

Australia

Robert Irwin, son of the legendary Crocodile Hunter Steve Irwin, is taking the spotlight in a jaw-dropping new underwear campaign for Australian brand Bonds—and he’s bringing the wild with him! Posing with venomous snakes, lizards, and even spiders, this campaign is far from your typical ad. But Robert’s no stranger to danger, having wrangled crocs and rescued wildlife throughout his life.

“It was an immediate yes,” Robert tells PEOPLE about his decision to model for Bonds. “I’m always looking for exciting challenges, and this was a big one!” While posing in his undies with some of Australia’s most dangerous creatures might seem like a step too far for most, Robert embraces the thrill, adding, “Wrangling animals is easy, but getting your gear off? Way scarier!”

To prepare for this daring photoshoot, Robert dialed in his fitness routine, upping his sit-ups and cutting down on carbs to ensure he looked and felt his best. “I’m representing Australia! I wanted to be confident,” he says, revealing how his intense training, including sprints at Australia Zoo, helped him get into top shape.

Despite the racy nature of the campaign, Robert has his family’s full support, including his sister Bindi, and even credits his mom for inspiring his fitness journey. As for what Steve Irwin, his late father, would think of the shoot? Robert laughs, “There’d be a few ‘Crikeys’ thrown around!”

For Robert, this is more than just a modeling gig. It’s a platform to continue the legacy of his father and spread awareness for wildlife conservation. “It’s so out of the ordinary for me, but if it helps get the message out there, it’s worth it,” he says. And with this unexpected partnership, he’s reaching a whole new audience with a powerful message.
