South Korea Fires Warning Shots After North Korean Soldiers Cross Border
Seoul, South Korea — Tensions along the border between South Korea and North Korea escalated today when South Korea’s military fired warning shots after a group of North Korean soldiers crossed into its territory.
According to a statement from South Korea’s military, approximately 10 North Korean soldiers briefly entered South Korean territory. In response, the South Korean forces issued warning broadcasts and fired shots to deter any further incursion. The soldiers then retreated back across the border into North Korea.
The South Korean military emphasized that it is closely monitoring the situation and remains vigilant of any further activities by North Korean forces along the tense border region.
