Daredevil’s Karen Page is Back! Deborah Ann Woll Opens Up About Her Shocking Return in ‘Born Again’
After a five-year absence, Deborah Ann Woll is officially back as Karen Page in Daredevil: Born Again, and fans couldn’t be more thrilled! The beloved character from Netflix’s Daredevil series is making her grand return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) alongside Charlie Cox’s Matt Murdock and Elden Henson’s Foggy Nelson—a reunion that many had feared would never happen.
Born Again Wasn’t Always Meant to Continue Netflix’s Daredevil
When Daredevil: Born Again was first announced by Marvel Studios, it wasn’t initially planned as a continuation of Netflix’s Daredevil. Instead, Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio (Kingpin) were set to play new MCU versions of their characters, leaving the fate of Karen Page and Foggy Nelson uncertain. However, during the 2023 production hiatus caused by the actors’ strike, Marvel reviewed the footage and decided a major creative overhaul was necessary—a decision that ultimately led to Woll and Henson being brought back for filming in 2024.
Set photos of the trio’s on-screen reunion quickly went viral, sending Daredevil fans into a frenzy. Now, in an exclusive interview with Entertainment Weekly, Woll has finally broken her silence about returning to the role that made her a fan favorite.
“We’re Back. Can You Believe It?”
Describing her first scene back on set with Cox and Henson, Woll recalled a moment of pure joy.
“We’re just looking at each other,” she said. “We’re like, ‘Guys! We’re back. We’re here again. Can you believe it?’ I don’t know, just the joy, the absolute joy… I’m having good tinglies just thinking about it.”
For Woll, stepping back into Karen Page’s shoes was both exciting and nerve-wracking.
“Sometimes when you’ve been away from a role for a while and you return to it, it can feel a bit like you’re doing an impression of yourself,” she admitted. “I was worried about that, but I think because the three of us have such an easy give-and-take, that allowed it to be very natural and fall right into place.”
The Countdown to Born Again
With the trio officially reunited and Marvel fully embracing the legacy of Daredevil, excitement for Born Again has reached new heights. The highly anticipated series is set to premiere with its first two episodes on Disney+ on March 4, 2025.
