At least 11 residents have lost their lives following a violent assault on communities in Nasarawa State, with dozens of homes reduced to rubble.

The attack, which took place in the early hours of Friday, is suspected to be linked to a retaliatory conflict stemming from earlier killings within the area.

Eyewitness accounts indicate that large sections of Akyawa were heavily affected, with numerous houses set ablaze, while nearby Udege Kasa also recorded property destruction.

Security authorities have since confirmed the incident, noting that efforts are underway to track down those responsible.

He reassured residents that law enforcement agencies are intensifying operations to arrest the perpetrators and ensure they face prosecution.

In response to the violence, additional security personnel have been deployed to the area, working alongside other agencies to stabilise the situation and prevent further attacks.

Community members were also urged to remain vigilant and support ongoing investigations by sharing credible information with security operatives.
