As gathered by Newbino Media Publishing, Benue State Governor Hyacinth Alia has strongly condemned the abduction of passengers, including students travelling for JAMB examinations, along the Makurdi–Otukpo road. The incident has sparked widespread concern, especially among parents, as security agencies ramp up efforts to rescue the victims.

Reports say the attack happened on a major route connecting Makurdi and Otukpo, a corridor that has faced repeated security challenges in recent months.

Governor Alia described the incident as “reprehensible and cowardly,” noting that targeting students and innocent travellers violates basic human values.

He confirmed that security operatives have launched coordinated search-and-rescue operations, with tactical teams already deployed to track down the perpetrators.
