The aide was said to have died instantly at the scene of the accident, while Ibwa later died at a hospital where he was receiving treatment for injuries sustained in the crash.
Another occupant of the vehicle reportedly survived the accident and is currently undergoing medical treatment.
Details surrounding the cause of the collision were still unclear as of the time of filing this report, while authorities had yet to issue an official statement on the incident.
The deaths have drawn reactions from associates and residents within the Gwagwalada Area Council, with condolences expressed over the loss of the lawmaker and his aide.
