The Executive Chairman of Ado Local Government Area, Engr. Sunny Oche, on Friday, joined family members, traditional rulers, political leaders, government officials, and sympathisers in Igumale to pay his last respects to the late Chief Alfred Ogaba Isenyo Obande (Ogaba-Eka), a revered elder statesman, community leader, and former Supervisory Councillor, whose exemplary life of service and integrity earned him the admiration of many across Ado Local Government and beyond.
Speaking during the funeral rites, Engr. Oche described the late Chief Obande as a distinguished patriot, a man of honour, wisdom, and unwavering commitment to the growth and unity of his community. He noted that the deceased’s life was defined by dignity, selfless service, and a deep sense of responsibility, leaving behind a legacy that will continue to inspire generations. The Chairman recalled his earlier condolence message to the family, reaffirming that Ado Local Government had lost one of its respected elders whose contributions to community development would not be forgotten.
The Chairman also sympathised with the bereaved family, particularly His Excellency, Prince Omoi Obande, the entire Obande Dynasty, and Hon. Halimat Ogaba, Special Adviser to the Chairman, praying that Almighty God grants them the strength, comfort, and fortitude to bear the irreparable loss. He urged the family to find solace in the remarkable life Chief Obande lived and the enduring values he imparted to his children, community, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. He further prayed that the Almighty grant the departed eternal rest and everlasting peace.
The funeral ceremony attracted an array of eminent personalities, including the Member representing Okpokwu State Constituency and APC Candidate for Ado/Okpokwu/Ogbadibo Federal Constituency, Rt. Hon. Anthony Attah Agom, JP; APC Benue South Senatorial Candidate, Hon. Francis Ottah Agbo; the Leader of the Ado Legislative Council, Hon. Agbo Adadu; councillors, political appointees, traditional rulers, party leaders, and other government functionaries, all of whom gathered to celebrate the life and legacy of the departed elder.
The Ado Local Government Council extends its profound condolences to the Obande family and prays that the cherished memories and exemplary legacy of Chief Alfred Ogaba Isenyo Obande (Ogaba-Eka) will continue to serve as a source of strength and inspiration. May his gentle soul rest in perfect peace.
