Abuja, Nigeria — September 23, 2025
It was a solemn yet dignified evening on Monday, September 22, 2025, as political leaders, statesmen, and dignitaries gathered at the International Conference Centre, Abuja, to pay glowing tributes to the late elder statesman, Chief Audu Ogbeh.
Among the notable attendees was the immediate past member representing Ado/Okpokwu/Ogbadibo Federal Constituency and former Chairman of the House Committee on Narcotic Drugs, Dr. Francis Ottah Agbo. Known for his vocal advocacy on governance, ethics, and national development, Dr. Agbo joined other prominent Nigerians to celebrate the life and legacy of Chief Ogbeh — a man widely regarded as a patriotic visionary, farmer, administrator, and political bridge-builder.
Dr. Francis Ottah Agbo, in a brief comment, described the late Ogbeh as “a nationalist whose humility, wisdom, and unshaken love for Nigeria should inspire the next generation of leaders.”
The Evening of Tribute was a deeply emotional ceremony filled with reflections, music, and memories that painted a rich picture of the deceased’s contribution to Nigeria’s growth. Speakers described Chief Ogbeh as a principled leader who remained committed to public service through decades of national highs and lows.
As tributes poured in, it became evident that Chief Audu Ogbeh’s life was not just a personal journey, but a reflection of Nigeria’s own political and socio-economic evolution. From his time as Minister of Agriculture to his involvement in party politics and governance reform, Ogbeh left indelible marks on Nigeria’s democratic space.
