Officials from the agency noted that women are increasingly involved in drug trafficking networks, often acting as key facilitators in national and international distribution channels. They stated that the arrest reflects intensified efforts to dismantle complex criminal organizations that undermine public safety and fuel substance abuse. The suspect has been detained and will be prosecuted under Nigeria’s anti-drug legislation. The NDLEA stated that an investigation is underway to identify other members of the network and locate accomplices linked to the seized shipment.

The NDLEA leadership commended the officers involved in the arrest and urged the public to support anti-narcotics initiatives by reporting any suspicious activity to the authorities. The agency reaffirmed its commitment to stemming the flow of illicit substances into and out of the country.
