The Ebonyi State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has dismissed speculations of a rift between Governor Francis Nwifuru and the Minister of Works, Senator David Umahi, over political control in the state.

Speaking in Abakaliki during a tour of wards and local government areas, APC state chairman, Chief Stanley Okoro-Emegha, called the reports baseless and misleading.

“There is no conflict between the governor and the minister. The APC is a disciplined party where everyone understands their role and limits. Both leaders have a strong working relationship, and they are aware of this tour,” Okoro-Emegha stated.

The chairman emphasized that the ongoing grassroots sensitization tour aims to strengthen party unity, address challenges, and restructure local leadership where necessary.

“We are engaging with our members at the grassroots to assess their needs and strengthen the party’s presence. Some positions need to be filled due to promotions, and we are ensuring a seamless transition,” he added.

Okoro-Emegha also highlighted APC’s commitment to attracting new members from opposition parties, reinforcing the party’s influence across Ebonyi State.

With these reassurances, the Ebonyi APC insists there is no internal crisis, urging members and the public to disregard unfounded speculations.
