Nigerian DJ and billionaire heiress Florence Otedola, popularly known as DJ Cuppy, has opened up about her privileged upbringing, admitting she didn’t fully grasp the extent of her family’s wealth while growing up.

Sharing her thoughts on X (formerly Twitter) on Saturday, Cuppy reflected on how financial security was something she took for granted, unaware that many people prayed for the kind of life she lived.

“Growing up, I didn’t fully realize just how privileged I was. I never had to worry about anything tbh. Thank God I see it now. What felt normal to me is something someone else is praying for. Gratitude changes everything,” she wrote.

Despite coming from a wealthy background as the daughter of business mogul Femi Otedola, DJ Cuppy has carved her own path in entertainment.

In 2022, she earned a master’s degree from Oxford University, a milestone she proudly celebrates. In 2024, she made history as the first British-Nigerian to host an opening session at the United Nations General Assembly, speaking on youth leadership and sustainable development.

Her latest reflection has sparked conversations on privilege, gratitude, and personal growth, resonating with many of her fans.
