Taylor Swift, Kendrick Lamar, Simone Biles Among Big Winners at 2024 Webby Awards

LOS ANGELES — The 29th annual Webby Awards have honored a wide range of celebrities, creators, and brands for their digital excellence. Announced by the International Academy of Digital Arts & Sciences, the winners include Kendrick Lamar, Taylor Swift, Rihanna, Travis Kelce, and Olympic champion Simone Biles.
Snoop Dogg received the Webby Entrepreneur of the Year Award for his ventures across music and business, including Death Row Records, cannabis and alcohol brands, and even ice cream. Walton Goggins was awarded Best Actor for his standout performances in streaming series such as The White Lotus, The Righteous Gemstones, and Fallout.
The event will take place on May 12 at Cipriani Wall Street in New York, hosted by comedian and actor Ilana Glazer. The evening will also honor leading brands such as Nike, Netflix, Letterboxd, Apple, and Google — which earned its first-ever Brand of the Year title. NBCUniversal was recognized as Best Media Company.
Dr. Fei-Fei Li will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award for her impactful work in artificial intelligence and dedication to human-centered innovation. Other special achievement honorees include Amelia Dimoldenberg, Rep. Jasmine Crockett, Marcello Hernández, Jools Lebron, the MeidasTouch Podcast, and Norman Teague.
Kendrick Lamar’s viral “Not Like Us” video, Mariah Carey’s festive collaboration with KAY Jewelers, and Lady Gaga’s website were also among the winning entries. RuPaul’s Drag Race: The Pit Stop and Brian Cox’s Brian Cox Goes to College were recognized for their digital storytelling.
Non-profit and mission-driven organizations were celebrated as well, including the Elton John AIDS Foundation, the National Immigration Law Center, and the Whitney Museum of American Art.
With a fresh set of categories, the Webby Awards also spotlighted leading figures in the creator economy. Zach King, Caleb Simpson, and NFL quarterback Jameis Winston were among the notable names awarded for their engaging online content.
Webby executive director Jesse Feister praised the winners for pushing digital boundaries: “This year’s winners represent a masterclass of creativity and innovation. They’ve harnessed the power of the Internet to drive change, spark conversations, and connect us in new ways.”
Founded in 1996, the Webby Awards have evolved from honoring websites to celebrating excellence across the vast digital landscape, including apps, podcasts, social media, and games.
