PRESS RELEASE: Anthony Agom Appreciates APC Leaders, Supporters, and Enone People After Primary Election Victory

The All Progressives Congress (APC) Flag Bearer for the Ado/Okpokwu/Ogbadibo Federal Constituency in the forthcoming 2027 General Elections, Anthony Attah Agom, has expressed profound gratitude to God, party leaders, stakeholders, supporters, and the entire people of Enone Federal Constituency following his emergence as winner of the just-concluded APC House of Representatives Primary Election.

Rt. Hon. Agom described his victory as a collective triumph for the people of Enone and a clear demonstration of the confidence reposed in him by party faithful across Ado, Okpokwu, and Ogbadibo Local Government Areas.

Speaking during an interview on Cockcrow Media, the APC candidate thanked the Almighty God for His grace upon his life and political journey, noting that the overwhelming support he received from the people remains a strong motivation for greater service and dedication.

Rt. Hon. Agom, who currently represents Okpokwu State Constituency in the Benue State House of Assembly, stated that his emergence at the primaries reflects the trust and confidence the people have in his leadership capacity, accessibility, and commitment to grassroots development. He pledged to bring quality representation, purposeful legislation, and effective advocacy to the people of Enone at the National Assembly.

The lawmaker further appreciated members of the APC across the constituency for their unity, loyalty, and steadfast support throughout the primary process. He commended the peaceful conduct of the exercise and assured the people that their confidence in him would never be taken for granted.

 

Rt. Hon. Agom specially acknowledged the Executive Governor of Benue State, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia (PhD), for providing an enabling environment that allowed party members to freely choose their preferred candidate during the primaries. He praised the Governor’s developmental strides and transformational leadership in Benue State, promising to complement the administration’s efforts through impactful representation at the Green Chamber.

He also commended the leadership of the APC in Benue State under Chief Benjamin Omale for sustaining internal democracy and strengthening the party ahead of the general elections.

In his appreciation message, Rt. Hon. Agom paid glowing tribute to elder statesman and former Senate President, Ameh Ebute, for his fatherly blessings, guidance, and unwavering support throughout the process.

He equally thanked the Chairman of Okpokwu Local Government Area, Hon. Inalegwu Adah, for standing firmly with him despite the intense contest.

Extending his appreciation to Ado Local Government Area, the APC candidate acknowledged the immense support of APC leader Chief Mike Okibe Onoja (Agama Y’Agila and Akanaba K’Idoma) for mobilising party faithfuls in support of his aspiration. He also appreciated the Executive Chairman of Ado Local Government Area, Engr. Sunny Oche, for ensuring a peaceful and hitch-free primary election in the area.

Rt. Hon. Agom further expressed gratitude to the Deputy Speaker of the Benue State House of Assembly, Lami Danladi Ogenyi, for her encouragement and support. He also commended Hon Dr Francis Ottah Agbo for demonstrating maturity and sportsmanship by pledging support for whoever emerged victorious at the primaries.

In Ogbadibo Local Government Area, the APC flag bearer appreciated respected statesman Steven Lawani for his invaluable role and fatherly support. He also acknowledged the contributions of the Chairman of Ogbadibo Local Government Area, Sunday Ajunwa, the Benue State Commissioner for Water Resources, Environment and Climate Change, Odoh Ugwu, and the Special Adviser to the Governor on Small and Medium Enterprises, Linda Agada, for their commitment and support which contributed immensely to the successful outcome of the primaries.

Calling for unity among party members and aspirants, Rt. Hon. Agom appealed to his fellow contestants to join hands with him in the collective interest of the Enone people. He stressed that leadership and development can only thrive where there is unity, mutual respect, and a shared vision for progress.

The APC candidate reiterated his commitment to operating an open-door leadership style, noting that he has always maintained accessibility and inclusiveness in his current role at the Benue State House of Assembly and would replicate the same approach if elected into the House of Representatives.

He assured the people of Enone Federal Constituency that his mission remains centred on effective representation, youth empowerment, infrastructure development, improved welfare for constituents, and sustained advocacy for the collective advancement of the constituency.

Rt. Hon. Anthony Agom concluded by reaffirming that the victory at the primaries belongs to the entire Enone people and pledged never to betray the trust and confidence reposed in him by the APC and the electorate.
