President Bola Tinubu has urged Nigerians to embrace love, tolerance, and unity as Muslims across the country celebrate Eid-el-Kabir.

The President made the call on Wednesday after observing Eid prayers at the Dodan Barracks prayer ground in Lagos.

Tinubu thanked Almighty Allah for preserving the lives of Nigerians to witness another Eid-el-Kabir celebration and encouraged citizens to reflect on the lessons of sacrifice, compassion, and togetherness associated with the festival.

“We thank God Almighty Allah for granting us another opportunity to witness this year’s Eid-el-Kabir celebration,” Tinubu said.

“We must learn from the lessons of this season by showing love to one another. There should be no discrimination, no hatred, and no division based on ethnicity.”

The President stressed the need for Nigerians to promote peace and generosity in ways that reflect the nation’s shared values and humanity.

“We should continue to share love and show kindness to one another in a manner that reflects our common humanity and national values,” he added.

Tinubu also emphasised the importance of tolerance, obedience to Allah, and respect for the rule of law as key principles needed to strengthen the country.

“It is important for us to remain tolerant, obedient to the will of Allah, and committed to the rule of law, which must guide society,” the President stated.

Speaking on the significance of sacrifice during Eid-el-Kabir, Tinubu said the celebration reminds Nigerians about the importance and sanctity of human life.

“The message of sacrifice teaches us the true value of life. Even from the beginning, a child was replaced with an animal, which shows how sacred human life is,” he said.
