In a democratic society, every citizen has the constitutional right to express personal opinions and support candidates of their choice. However, it is equally important that individual views are not presented as the collective position of an entire people without proper consultation or mandate. It has become necessary to clarify recent statements attributed to Mr. Cornelius Ikwebe Otse concerning the senatorial aspirations of Dr. Francis Ottah Agbo and the political preferences of Ado youths.

While Mr. Otse is entitled to his personal political convictions, it must be clearly understood that his views remain his own and should not be mistaken for the official position of the youths of Ado. No individual can legitimately claim to speak for a people without the consent, endorsement, or authorization of recognized leadership structures and established platforms. The youths of Ado are vibrant, politically aware, and capable of making informed decisions regarding their political future. Their collective voice cannot be reduced to the opinion of a single individual, regardless of personal ambition or political alignment.

Political engagement should be driven by issue-based discussions, mutual respect, and democratic principles. The focus should remain on the quality of leadership, developmental vision, competence, and the ability of candidates to serve the people effectively. Dr. Francis Ottah Agbo, as a recognized political figure and party flag bearer, enjoys support from various segments of the constituency. Equally, every aspirant has the right to seek support through legitimate democratic means. What must be avoided is the misrepresentation of personal opinions as community consensus.

For the avoidance of doubt, any statement made by Mr. Cornelius Ikwebe Otse regarding the political position of Ado youths should be regarded as his personal viewpoint and not as an official mandate from the youth population of Ado. The people of Ado remain committed to democratic values and retain the exclusive right to determine their political direction through lawful consultation, dialogue, and the electoral process. May our political engagements continue to promote unity, development, and the collective progress of our people.
